In addition please monitor power consumption & cooling to check if a. Since you've made hardware changes, please also double check the fundamentals as part of your troubleshooting - if the graphics card and RAM are seated properly, if the GPU is in the fastest PCIE slot available and if the monitors were reconnected to the GPU's outputs and not the motherboard's. My last hail mary would be a clean install of Windows 10, which I'm loathe to do unless it worked from someone else. Also adding to the list of thing I've tried is a bios upgrade on my X99-E motherboard (which temporarily disabled both my boot SSD and internal RAID, scary)īased on what I've seen on this forum and elsewhere, there are other people who have had similar issues and I wonder if/how they resolved those if it wasn't what I've already tried. And clearly drive speed is not the issue since bypassing color instantly pegs playback to real time. all formats are the same and from my RAID or SSD. I'm working with DNxHR (both natively and optimized), Prores, Arriraw, XAVC, H264. now I get the same performance on 1080 as UHD of around 18fps when I reach about 10 nodes, even if those nodes are disabled or have nothing in them. Yeah, I've been working for several years on this system and the change is dramatic: even before upgrading from the slower GPU, the 980ti, 4K/UHD was a breeze. NFO logs just as soon as I can get back on that system. And meanwhile, I've seen a great performance increase in Adobe as a result of the RTX card. moved GPU from slot 1 to slot 3 (both 16x)įinally in a fit of exasperation I bought an RTX 2070 super card, upgrading from a Geforce 980ti and still no change! Although I can see a slight performance increase in certain respects, like NR, same bottle neck. rolled back to every version of Resolve, back to 16.0 and up to 16.2.4 (not 15) rolled back Nvidia GPU drivers with clean installs including 436.48, 431.68, 430.86, current studio drivers starting a new project with new media, different codecs including DNX, Prores a myriad of Resolve system preference changes including CUDA, sound buffer, h264 decoding off I have pulled my hair out for days, read dozens of posts, tried every combination of recommendations I've found and nothing has worked. If I bypass color performance goes up, but with no bypass, even with empty nodes or nodes turned off = lagging. No amount of optimized media, caching changes it. Where I was previously getting real time performance from a dozen nodes in 4K projects (without noise reduction), there seems to be a bottle neck at around 18 fps when I have more than 10 nodes, even if the nodes have nothing in them, no matter what resolution or frame rate. Unfortunately I also updated GPU drivers at the same time (I normally know better), so hard to pin point exactly what caused the performance drop. I also experienced a big performance drop when I upgraded to 16.2.
